The Marvel Cinematic Universe has taken a risky approach by incorporating non-franchise actors into its timeline.  Before the launch of the powerful Marvel film franchise, numerous studios held the movie adaptation rights for Marvel characters.  Marvel subsequently regained those rights and gradually introduced a new set of characters.  It's worth noting that Marvel decided to revive some of the earlier shows at the same time.

In the timeline of the Marvel Universe, several iconic film works have introduced characters from outside the series.  Spider-man: Homeless features characters from SONY's Spider-Man universe, while Deadpool and Wolverine's cameo features a cast of characters formerly part of 20th Century Fox.  With most of the Marvel characters returning to the Disney Universe, there may be more familiar faces joining the Marvel Universe in the future.
